Patterns & Frameworks
X by 2 designs solutions which take advantage of Patterns and Frameworks. Patterns are proven solutions (usually ideas or methods) to recurring problems such as customer management, content management, etc. or security, data access, etc. Patterns capture the most crucial elements of a solution which are then honed over time through repeated application and collective experience - both X by 2 and other industry leaders.
Frameworks are software "skeletons" for particular types of applications (such as web applications, integration applications, and portal applications). Frameworks, based on multiple, interlinked Patterns, consist of proven code modules that serve recurring types/classes of applications and provide the foundations that keep project teams directed, focused and productive.
Harvesting & Growing Knowledge
Every X by 2 Pattern is the result of a concerted effort and mindset to actively identify and harvest Patterns from previous projects. Thus, X by 2 is able to gain and retain knowledge from each project and we apply that learning toward the next engagement. With every new project, we first identify and understand the recurring, pattern-based problems being considered and then seek to identify which Patterns and Frameworks from our "library" best serves that need.

The results of this process of problem identification and pattern application are tremendous. X by 2 Patterns and Frameworks are based on industry best-practices which have been tested and hardened over many engagements and deployed in many production environments.
